6 Months Old!

These photo shoots are getting progressively worse… IMG_5239 IMG_5235 IMG_5231 IMG_5223 IMG_5222 IMG_5213 IMG_5211 IMG_5209 IMG_5206 IMG_5203 IMG_5202 IMG_5199

Things haven’t changed too much since last month other than the girls being happier and more interactive.
The Good:  The girls are nearly manageable by one adult in the evenings.  We have come such a long way from Charlee’s colic!  Andie loves her blue activity saucer and Charlee loves her jumper.  Andie gives you lots of smiles when you bounce her around and Charlee is most happy when you talk with her.  Charlee has been pulling out her pacifier to talk to you and then she’ll put it back in.  If you sing to her, she will sing along, and often she goes for long periods of making noises so we say that she is singing.  The girls are finally sleeping in their cribs on a regular basis which is a welcome change since Andie was arching herself out of the rocker eventhough that was the only place she slept for any amount of time.  The girls are still struggling to interact with one another as they want to touch each other, but lack the coordination to do so nicely.  They usually scratch each others’ faces, but one night, Charlee reached over and took the pacifier out Andie’s mouth and put it in hers.  Andie didn’t care… she was too pre-occupied with her feet.  They are obsessed with their own feet and each other’s feet.  They frequently pull their socks off and put them in their mouths.  Both girls rolled over in the beginning of the month, but neither are doing it on a regular basis.  Andie is much more mobile than Charlee (almost crawling), but Charlee is better at sitting up.  Charlee prefers to eat food over taking her bottle and she is a very good eater.  Andie isn’t as good at opening her mouth to take bites and frequently spits out her food and licks it off her bib.  Both girls are facinated with the tags on their toys… it is interesting to watch how their coordination continues to improve as they manuvre a toy until they are pulling on the tag.  I’m not sure if they are trying to read the tag or if they know that it ‘doesn’t belong.’  Charlee is better than Andie in the walkers, or as we call it, The Charlee Car.  Both seem to only be able to move backwards, but Charlee is making pretty good distance going backwards through the kitchen.
The Bad:  The girls are growing ridiculously fast… some of the 12 months clothing is tight on Charlee.  Andie puts absolutely everything in her mouth.  Andie is a wiggle worm and must be strapped into anything with straps.  She is also getting some distance when left on the floor so it is only a matter of time before we have to childproof.  The girls are following a pretty strict schedule of eating at 7a, 11a, 1p, 4p, 7p; however they still choose to wake up at 530 or 6am EVERY DAY.  Charlee went through two weeks of tummy trouble which made for less than exciting times for us… a sick baby is no fun.
The Ugly:  The girls are still waking multiple times during the night. !!!
